Cell Phone & Electronic Device Policy

School Year 2024-2025

Our school is committed to providing a safe and focused learning environment where students can thrive academically and socially. To achieve this, we have established a policy regarding the use of electronic devices during school hours, and we kindly ask for the cooperation of parents and guardians in supporting this effort.

We understand that many families rely on technology to stay connected, but electronic devices can often become a distraction during the school day. We want to ensure that our students can fully engage in their lessons, activities, and interactions without interruptions.

Device Responsibility:

The school takes no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged electronic devices. Students bring devices to school at their own risk. If parents wish to track their children’s location, we recommend considering GPS devices like AirTags, which do not have communication features.

Policy Guidelines:

Device Storage: All electronic devices (including but not limited to cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, and gaming devices) must be powered off and stored in backpacks upon entering the school premises. Devices should remain off and out of sight throughout the entire school day.

Focus on Learning: Unauthorized use of electronic devices during school hours is strictly prohibited, as it can disrupt the learning environment. This includes making calls, sending texts, taking photos, playing games, and accessing social media.

Consequences for Violations:

To ensure fairness and consistency, we have implemented a Three-Strike system:

First Offense: The teacher will address the issue, and consequences will be determined at their discretion. This may include a gentle reminder, a warning, or confiscation of the device for the remainder of the class.

Second Offense: School administration will contact the student’s parents or guardians to discuss the policy violation and work together on a solution.

Third Offense: The student’s parents or guardians will be required to come to the school to retrieve the device. Additionally, the student will not be permitted to bring any electronic device to school for four weeks.

We deeply appreciate the cooperation and understanding of our students, parents, and staff. By working together, we can create a positive and distraction-free environment that allows all students to focus on learning and personal growth.
